MESSAGE FROM THE DESK OF:
R.W. Bro. Robert A. Ough,
District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Canada,
Province of Ontario, Ontario District.

August 25, 2009

Brethren of Ontario District,

Even though one charts a course toward a target known to take many years down the road, the arrival can be overwhelming.

This somewhat describes what transpired in mid-July of this year at the Grand Lodge communication in Toronto. It finally hit me that first of all, because Hope Lodge 114 Past Masters and Members supported the idea of me becoming their candidate for D.D.G.M., our journey was beginning. Then over the course of the next three or four years, there was a support action by Ontario District that became even more wonderful to experience than you can ever imagine. On July 15th this year the District made it official and all of a sudden the reality hit - we had arrived.

I know that with the continued support of Ontario District and the absolute trust and support of Grand Lodge, everything will work out well.

I want to thank the Masters, Secretaries, District Chairmen, and all the Officers and members of Ontario District for the way you have at this early date shown your enthusiasm for this, our Masonic craft.

We will have a great year ahead, built onto the great years of the past. While visiting this subject, I want to thank R.W. Bro. Blain Moffat I.P.D.D.G.M. for his staunch support, and to V.W. Bro. Gerry Garnett for his efforts to make the transition seamless between the Masonic years. I want also to thank W. Bro. Craig Robinson for answering the call to become District Secretary and for the support he has already displayed.

This year I have chosen "Cure for Prostate Cancer" as the Ontario District Project. The project number is 2387 and I know we will have a banner year in reaching our goal.

Finally Brethren as we proceed through this coming 12 months, let us ask the G.A.O.T.U. for guidance and protection for all our Brethren in the Grand Lodge as well as all 44 Districts of the Grand Jurisdiction.
