February 2012
Fraternal Greetings ---
On the evening of Friday, January 20, 2012 I had the opportunity to witness the Open Installation of the Officers of the Ganaraska Chapter of DeMolay. The Ceremony took place in the Port Hope Temple with over 80 people in attendance. This is the third Installation that I have attended. The first Installation saw only a handful of parents and boys. At this Installation there was a significant number of parents, friends, Masons, Rainbow girls and members of the Eastern Star.
The members of the DeMolay did a great job as the ritual was performed with confidence and well done. When the next Installation occurs I would encourage you to take time and attend as I'm sure that you will be inspired with what you will see.
W. Bro. Ron DeMerchant has been an inspiration for this enthusiastic group of boys. The boys are developing confidence and leadership skills. We live in a time when leadership is needed. When the DeMolay boys become men they will indeed be leaders. On behalf of Masons in Ontario District, thank you W. Bro. Ron DeMerchant for the job that you are doing.
DeMolay follows the motto of "Fellowship, Fun and Food." Brethren, we could do well by copying their example. Feasts and fellowship were extremely important to our Ancient Brethren. We have concentrated on our ritual which is important, however there is room to improve our level of fellowship. I would suggest that effective leadership promotes fellowship, which spawns enthusiasm and bonds the brethren together.
